Processing Toxic Emotions, Part 1
Part One: Processing Toxic Emotions
Any emotion can become toxic if it is not handled properly. Emotions can trigger a negative response in our body's chemical system, which leads to physical symptoms such as headaches, high blood pressure, ulcers, or heart palpitations. They can also lead us down a path of self-destruction, such as substance abuse or eating disorders. However, we can overcome toxic emotions by understanding them and examining them through the word to process them correctly. When not processed, these emotions are harmful to our bodies, just as Proverbs 14:30 says, "A cheerful heart is a good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."
Join the conversation with me, Lisa, and my co-host Dr. Lidia Martinez as we share more about toxic emotions and how to process them in a Godly way to heal and move on with life. Dr. Martinez is a licensed mental health counselor, a marriage and family therapist, and a certified master’s level addiction professional.
